Description

6-3-5 Brainwriting was developed by Bernd Rohrbach as a written form of brainstorming. It involves 6 people writing 3 ideas each in 5 minutes on individual sheets of paper (typically laid out as a grid). The ideas must be precisely written in a few words. The sheets are passed from person to person, and the process repeated until every person has written ideas on every page. With each successive round, each person has more “material” or “inspiration” from the previous ideas to draw from. After 6 rounds, there will be 6x6x3 or 108 ideas, typically created in about 30 minutes. Variations on this technique exist, and some flexibility can be exercised by having more/fewer team members and time.
